How ’bout that? Unruly thing. It also bumped Friday comic to Saturday, so come back Saturday for the final comic of the 2010 Lewis’s Life Birthday season.

You can now purchase the book- printed on real tree puree- in the store RIGHT NOW!
Oh, and I honestly don’t know how long the “free summer shipping” will last, so if you want to have your book sent to you for free- jump on it!
I hope y’alls enjoy the fruit of my (countless hours of) labor.

It’s all done.
The book is complete, and it shall be going up for sale in the next day or two.
It’s really a trippy experience seeing my work in a book. I mean, I’ve seen things that I’ve done in print before, but this is an entirely new beast.
I love it.
I love flipping through the cartoons (which look AMAZING on the printed page, despite my poor image prep in the early days), reading my comments in my own handwriting throughout the book, weighing the book in my hands and savoring that lovely visceral thrill of actually touching and holding the art that I’m consuming, instead of just staring at a screen representation. Print is a beautiful thing, let me tell you. I’m not so much of a web head that I don’t understand how powerful and wonderful books are; as much as I love webcomics, reading the same comics in print is ten times as satisfying. I can’t fully explain it, but our human need for tactile interaction with books will make sure that screens don’t ever fully replace them.

I’ve fixed the free book page, so e-mails actually go out from it! Hooray!
You could be reading the new Lewis’s Life book tomorrow, no lighter of wallet.

*but it still isn’t up to order yet- what’s up with that? Well, I have to order a ‘proof copy’ so I can make sure that I did everything right. I want you to have a really nice looking book, after all! It shouldn’t be too long before I have the book- and the ‘artist edition’ books up for sale, looking nice and spiffy!
HOWEVER- you can get a FREE PDF of the entire book (except a print-only short story) right now! Just click on the “free book” button on the up at the top of the site! Enjoy!

Hey, folks- I’m pushing to beat my new deadline on the first Lewis’s Life book. The book is drawing near to completion, but I really need to do all of the million things that are required to finish it up, so I’m going to take today and Friday off from Lewis. I will, however, post some unrelated comics down here that I found in my files. I’ll see you back here Monday for a brand new Lewis.
“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they go by.”

I drew this comic at work on a receipt:

By the way:
Recently, my google adsense account was disabled due to “invalid activity”. I.E. people clicking on the advertising banners in a suspicious manner (repeatedly? remaining on the page for only for a few seconds? There’s no way of knowing). I have appealed this decision, since I haven’t violated Google’s TOS, but let me request that if you ever clicked on my banners to generate clicks (not because you were interested) it has to STOP if Google lets me use their ads again. It violates Google’s policies, and it is dishonest. If you desperately want me to have money, I accept donations and I sell stuff. We don’t have to steal Google’s money.
Update: “after thoroughly re-reviewing your account data and taking your
feedback into consideration, our specialists have confirmed that we’re
unable to reinstate your AdSense account”. Oh, well.

Ok, don’t panic. I may have a Lewis’s Life book in the works, and someone in my organization may be leaking pages. Please, wait until the book is out- don’t check out leaked pages such as the one found here on Flickr. Thank you!

Weird things going on with the site right now…I’m upgrading to comicpress 2.9, which will give me a lot of control…but I know little about code so it takes some time to get it looking right again.

I think either my site or my internet connection is sick today. I can’t see the new comic, so if all you can see is a little “broken link” image, you’re not alone. I’ll be working to figure this out soon!
Meanwhile, read today’s comic at deviantart.com
